An unidentified man who was hit by a train at Meadowhall railway station on Tuesday 16th February has died.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust was called that day to reports of a passenger struck by a train at Meadowhall.
A spokesperson from the Service said: “We sent an ambulance, but did not convey the patient. If you would like to speak to South Yorkshire Police they will be able to provide you with further information.”
South Yorkshire Police said: “Any incident on the railway is dealt with by British Transport Police.”
A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed the incident in a press release: “We were called to Meadowhall railway station on Tuesday 16 February, to a report of a person struck by a train.
“Officers from BTP attended the incident, which was reported at 4.25pm, and is being treated as non-suspicious.
“Paramedics from Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended, and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers informed the man’s family and will create a file for the coroner.”
The identification of the man will be found out from the coroner once the post-mortem has been completed.
