The exhibition, called ‘6 Weeks To Eternity’, is being created to celebrate the six week summer holiday by collating photos and stories from the public.
The two-day exhibition will take place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May in Magna, Rotherham.
The aim of the exhibition is to share childhood memories and bring a sense of summer holiday nostalgia to the people of Sheffield.
McKee said, “6 weeks to eternity will be the story of those lost weeks. How we survived, how we enjoyed, how we endured and how we suffered the inevitable boredom of six whole weeks off school. This is the story of the six weeks holiday.”
McKee was also recently involved in a project to decorate a new tram to be used in Sheffield. The tram’s windows were decorated with his cartoon characters and can be seen by passengers all over the city.
To get involved email your photos and stories to firstname.lastname@example.org. The submissions will be posted to the website, www.6weeks.co.uk, where you can see photos from everyone taking part and find out more.
