Sheffield residents to vote for next Hillsborough and Brightside MP

Residents in Brightside and Hillsborough will today be voting in a by-election for their constituency’s next MP following the death of Harry Harpham earlier this year.

All the seats on Sheffield City Council are also up for  election this year so people will be casting votes for up to three candidates.

Polling stations will be open at 7am and will close at 10pm today with around 400,000 people expected turn out for the vote.

The election will also see people of  South Yorkshire vote for their next Police and Crime Commissioner.

The result of the city council elections are expected at 5pm tomorrow and results for the by-election are expected in the morning.
