Eight children and two teachers have been taken to hospital with sickness symptoms following a chemical leak in the Springs Leisure Centre.
Emergency services arrived at about 12 noon after the incident happened at the swimming pool.
Steve Brailey, chief executive of SIV, said: “Following an incident this morning at the swimming pool at Springs Leisure Centre during a school swimming lesson, eight children and two teachers have been taken to hospital by ambulance with sickness symptoms. We are currently working with the emergency services, who are on site, to investigate.”
Located on Hurlfield Road near Norton, the Spring Leisure Centre will re-open at 7am on Tuesday 17th May.
