Canadian born Jesse Schultz joins the Sheffield Steelers after playing 2 seasons at the German side SC Riessersee.
The 33 year old right winger has scored 83 times in the last 3 seasons. Head coach Paul Thomson has said: “he is expected to be an offensive talent at the club”.
This is will be Schultz’s first time playing in the Elite league but 2 seasons ago was the third highest scorer in the East Coast League.
Schultz will take to the arena in his first game as Steeler against the Denmark team Aalborg’s Pirates. Although he had bigger offers at other European clubs he has said that he felt had the chance to win every day at Sheffield.
Thomson has said: “He is a puck possession player who comes with a great shot. I like the way he fits into the line up alongside the variety of talent we have already put together”.
