Yorkshire have been put under increased pressure as Somerset piled on the first innings runs on day two at Taunton.
James Hildreth started the day on 68 not out and added a further 98 runs to his overnight total before he was eventually caught and bowled by Adil Rashid on 166.
Peter Trego also contributed 94 runs to Somerset’s first innings total before the hosts declared on 562-7, having ended day one on 342-4.
Adil Rashid picked up two wickets as he finished with figures of 4-160, with Steven Patterson picking up the only other wicket for Yorkshire today.
Yorkshire’s pacemen Liam Plunkett and Jack Brooks endured a tough time in the field ending with figures of 0-87 and 0-106 respectively.
The County Championship division one leaders have started their reply to Somerset’s huge total with openers Adam Lyth and Alex Lees hoping to make strong inroads into the hosts total as tea approached.
Yorkshire are currently 32-0 with Lyth 23 and Lees 8 not out.
