Sheffield to Host a Viking-style Bar for Christmas

Amidst the vibrant Christmas lights, a Viking-themed tent bar will gather people together for a round of ale in Sheffield’s Peace Gardens.

Thor’s Tipi Bar, named after the Scandinavian God, will this year expand to Sheffield, Leeds and York. Famous Yorkshire companies PapaKåta and Lunchbox Events have teamed up to bring a different kind of Christmas festivities for the people of these cities to enjoy.

Maria Farrugia, Executive Producer at the latter said: “Having lived in Yorkshire for 13 years, there was an obvious gap in the city centre at Christmas for a festive food and drink offering. Seeing how other cities were putting people in the Christmas mood made me want to create something similar and so I am excited that we now have something to rival other places in the UK. Sheffield will not be disappointed.”

Ale, cider, mulled wine, hot chocolate, BBQ, provided by BBQ Collective, and all the rest of the Advent essentials will be available for customers of all ages to savour. They will also have the opportunity to sit on the benches, decorated with fur coats, to warm up around the fire that will be located in the centre of the giant tent.

The bar will be set up on 24 November and will run till 31 December. It will be open from 10:30am to 11pm but will be closed on Christmas Day.
