Storm Doris attacks power in Sheffield homes

23 February 2017

More than 900 homes have been left without power across Sheffield and South Yorkshire today as storm Doris continues to disrupt homes and businesses.

The Star reported that around 70 homes in the South Yorkshire area had been thrown into blackout this morning, but the number has since increased.

Businesses on Trippet Lane were left without power earlier today as a result of the storm.

Energy provider Northern Powergrid announced that anyone experiencing a power cut nationally is urged to call 105 and confirmed that more than 800 customers had been left without power.

The company fought to keep power on in Wakefield earlier today, and thanked customers for their patience.
