The global digital giant is providing free digital skill training to all Sheffield people under Google’s Digital Garage.
The scheme aims to help local businesses, students, charities and individuals to gain digital skills for their personal means.
Alina Dimofte, a manager from Google, said all kinds of workshops will be available in the garage and also online. “So you can just pop-in, sign up for one, two or as many [workshops]as you want all for free,” she said.
A pop-up store will be based in the city centre and will be open to everyone, regardless of their technological expertise.
Twelve Google experts will be based in the garage. The first workshop will be delivered on 28 April after the launch event.
A one-to-one mentoring programme will also be running as part of the scheme. The programme allows people to ask specific questions about their blogs or careers.
You can learn more about the scheme and meet the digital experts at the launch event on Friday at 11am at 15 Barker’s Pool.
The garage will be opened for six months, seven days a week.
