Teenager dies after being thrown from vehicle in M18 crash

A 17-year-old was thrown from his vehicle and was killed in a car crash on the M18 on Saturday.

The boy died when the black BMW he was travelling in left the carriageway and he was thrown into a blue Citroen Picasso heading in the same direction.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The BMW reportedly landed on its roof.

Police say the incident happened at around 7.30pm and the victim was thought to be a passenger in the car.

Two other men in the car, aged 18 and 19, also suffered minor injuries.

Police are asking for witnesses who saw the BMW before the incident. Ring 101 with information, quoting incident number 989.
