Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has come under increased pressure from the club’s supporters after their latest defeat.
The Owls lost 2-1 away to bottom club Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon, giving the Trotters their first win of the Championship Season.
Many felt that Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United before the international break may have been a turning point in their season but just one win in their last five league matches suggests otherwise.
Some Wednesday supporters voiced their frustration during Saturday’s match by chanting for Carvalhal to be sacked by the club’s hierarchy.
If we win next 5 in a row I will still want Carlos out

There were rumours circulating on social media on Monday night that the Portuguese manager may have been dismissed but these turned out to have no substance.
However, there is no doubt that Carvalhal is under significant pressure and a result against Derby County at Pride Park this weekend may be needed if he is to keep his job at Hillsborough.
Carvalhal has led The Owls to back-to-back play-off finishes in his two years in charge so far but a lack of progression this season has led to the club’s fan base being left very frustrated.
The success of local rivals Sheffield United has not helped matters and The Owls’ 4-2 defeat to The Blades at Hillsborough a couple of weeks ago was the final straw for many supporters.
There would be plenty of candidates to take over at Hillsborough if Carvalhal was to be dismissed with former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka being the latest name to be linked to the club.
