Commuters across South Yorkshire will face further disruption as members of the rail trade union, RMT, will stage another walk-out on Wednesday 8 November.
This comes as part of a number of protests against Northern Rail’s plans to switch to more driver only trains, which RMT deem to be unsafe and would lead to job losses for guards and conductors.
The dispute has been ongoing for some time with the first of the walk-outs being staged in March and a further protest in early October.
Northern Rail will offer a reduced service with trains running from 7am to 7pm and Northern are urging any commuters to plan carefully ahead before travelling.
