A brand new branch of popular sandwich chain Pret a Manger opens in Sheffield city centre today.
The new store is located at 2 Fargate and fills the previously empty retail unit once held by a branch of the HSBC bank.
Labour Councillor Neil Gibson has praised Pret a Manger’s move to the city centre as a sign that Sheffield regeneration projects are having a positive effect.
The new branch is currently looking to partner with a charity, with whom they can give away any unsold food to those in need.
Charities who feel they could be a suitable match are encouraged to contact the store at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Wednesday, the store offered a first look and free lunches to eager customers, which prompted long queues all the way down the street.
The Fargate store has the capacity for 130 seated customers, and also offers free wi-fi and tap water.
