The green lights, known as the Aurora Borealis, were seen over Oxenhope in West Yorkshire and snapped by keen photographer Matthew Heaton.
The lights were also spotted across the Lake District, Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland throughout the week.
The phenomenon is caused by eruptions on the surface of the Sun and recent activity has been particularly strong.
