The University of Sheffield’s service units held a parade outside Sheffield students’ union, in honour of Remembrance Day.
Dom Finch, 22, member of the RAF and leader of the parade, said: “This is the official way the union remembers those who served our country.”
The parade consisted entirely of students.
Yorkshire university’s air squadron, and army and navy units stood outside in a formation for at least 25 minutes, before holding a one minute silence at 11am.
Armistice Day is tomorrow, November 11, and the official Day of Remembrance is on Sunday.
This is the Royal British Legion’s biggest fundraiser – last year almost £150 million was raised. The funds go towards the welfare of war veterans and their families.
