Sheffield Tigers Speedway racers, Kyle Howarth and Charles Wright, have been selected to compete in the British Semi-Final, held at Sheffield’s Owlerton Stadium on 10th May.
The two Sheffield stars are among 16 riders looking to secure their British Final places, at Belle Vue on 11th June.
Howarth was recently signed to Sheffield Tigers for a third season, and retained title of club captaincy. Howarth’s captain title, and Wright’s current impressive form, mean both riders are expected to qualify to compete in the British Finals.
Sheffield co-promoter Peter Mole, said: “When I look down the line-ups for the semi-finals I am filled with a great sense of optimism for the future of British Speedway.
“GP star, Craig Cook, international regulars Rory Schlein and Robert Lambert, Championship heat-leader Jason Garrity along with our own Kyle and Charles, and up-and-coming youngsters surely destined for the very top in our sport.
“Any of those riders can win a race, although some will obviously be more consistent than others. It will make a fantastic evening of Speedway racing.”
The second Semi-Final will take place at Leicester on 15th May, with Sheffield Tigers reserve James Shanes included in the line up. The top eight placed riders from both Semi-Finals will qualify for the British Final.
