As part of the Sheffield Chamber Music Festival, the Crucible Theatre is set to host 25 chamber music concerts over the course of 9 days from the 11th to 19th of May 2018.
Presented by Music In The Round, the series of performances will offer an exciting classical repertoire of well-known pieces from notable composers including Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert – expect everything from trios and string quartets to quintets and more.
Bringing the very best of live music to Steel City, the festival’s programme will feature Sheffield’s resident chamber group Ensemble 360 who will kick off the festival by performing Mahler’s Piano Quartet in A minor and Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll.
Joining them will be singer Roderick Williams as well as several instrumentalists including harpist Catrin Finch, kora player Seckou Keita and pianist Peter Hill.
Housed within The Crucible Studio with its intimate round-style setting, concert-goers will be seated just a few feet from the musicians, allowing them to be engaged in one of the most immersive sensory experiences ever.
