The Weekend Sports Event Highlights for Sheffield

Sheffield will play host to many interesting sporting events over the next few days and weekend. Take a look at a comprehensive look over what is happening in the sporting world in the city this weekend:

Arenacross Tour 2019 at flyDSA Arena

The world’s best Arenacross and Freestyle Motocross riders will descend upon The FlyDSA Arena, Sheffield for the final round of the 2019 Arenacross Tour on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th February.

6,000 tonnes of dirt will be trucked into the venue creating one of the most extreme tracks the UK has ever seen as Sheffield plays host to the final round. Prepare to be entertained by some of the worlds fastest motocross racers and crazy freestyle motocross riders all wrapped up show designed to provide a high-octane sensory feast.

BUCS Nationals 2019

BUCS Nationals 2019 will return to Sheffield for its 10th year, where 6000 students across 8 sports descend on the city over the weekend of 15-17 February.

BUCS Nationals brings together individual BUCS Championship events which take place across different venues across Sheffield. As well as the 6000 students taking part in the event,over 500 officials and volunteers are combining to organise the event on and off the field of play.

The eight sports featured will include indoor athletics, swimming, fencing, karate, judo, climbing, shooting and badminton.

St Valentine’s Day Massacre

Starting at Meadowhall this Saturday 16th, this romance-oriented run encourages couples to run together for fun, with rewards for all participants. Both 5km and 10km options are available for people looking to run. The route is family-friendly, pram-friendly and wheelchair friendly.

  • Mid table Sheffield RUFC face off at home against second placed Newport (Salop) at Abbeydale Park (Saturday 16 February 2019)
