Tramlines wins award for disability efforts

 

Sheffield Festival ‘Tramlines’ has been recognised with an award for enabling disabled people to enjoy the festival.

 

The three-day celebration held at Hillsborough Park achieved the Bronze Award for Access from ‘Attitude is Everything’.

 

Timm Cleasby, Head of Production for Tramlines said, “We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy our festival.

 

“We made disabled access a real priority with lots of big changes to our infrastructure. These changes really paid off and it’s great to have the recognition from Attitude is Everything.”

 

The festival won the award for its efforts such as giving free passes to carers. They also made all information clear and accessible and provided disabled viewing platforms at last years event.

 

Tramlines has worked closely over the years with Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, who helped the festival to design the website for screen readers. Sheffield Live Community Radio also worked with the production team to create an audio festival guide for visually impaired people.

 

Tramlines Festival 2019 is running from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st July at Hillsborough Park, Sheffield.
