Barnsley FC have announced that forward Kieffer Moore will miss the rest of the season on medical advice.
Moore has not played for the Tykes since their 4-1 win at Gillingham on 9th February, after suffering a concussion in a head collision with Gillingham defender Gabriel Zakuani.
The former Ipswich forward is Barnsley’s top scorer this season with 18 goals, and had scored five goals in six games prior to his injury.
His loss will be a blow to the Tykes, who currently sit at second in the League One table with 67 points, two points clear of third-placed Sunderland.
Barnsley assistant coach, Dale Tonge said: “We have been given medical advice from top professionals and we have to take it because his health is more important that anything.
“It may give other teams a boost but we have enough players in the squad to score the goals that Kieffer has scored and new leaders will step up from within the squad.”
