Sheffield Wednesday have changed and extended their deadline to submit club accounts which covered the financial information of the 2017/18 season to Companies House.
The date has been changed from the 27 February to between 31 May and 31 July. This means the publication will be delayed for a further two months.
Usually, clubs have nine months to submit their club accounts. The accounts would have been due to be published this morning if the original deadline was kept.
Kieran Maguire, a lecturer in football finance at University of Liverpool, tweeted about the delay.
Sheffield Wednesday accounts due for submission to Companies House today but club changed its year end yesterday from 31 May to 31 July to avoid publication for another 2 months. Not good in terms of transparency, governance & communication with fans #SWFC #TwitterOwls pic.twitter.com/wfu526u60u
