Essential roadworks on Sheffield and Mosborough parkways are due to take place later this month.
Amey will be carrying out crucial maintenance work and inspections as part of the £2bn Streets Ahead contract.
Nick Hetherington, Network Account Manager at Amey, said: “We appreciate that these roads are busy main routes into the city centre, which is why the maintenance work is so important.”
As the work requires lane closures, it will take place during the quieter hours to minimise disruption to drivers. Diversions will also be put in place.
He said: “We’ve scheduled the work during quieter periods to avoid further disruption to commuters during rush hour and we would like to thank people for their continued patience whilst these roadworks are completed.”
With delays expected, a number of locals have taken to social media to express how unhappy they are with the plans.
One wrote: “You must spend more time setting the cones out than you do on the ‘essential’ maintenance.”
The work will take place on 10 March, 17 March, 20 March, 21 March, 24 March, 26 March, 27 March, 31 March and 7 April.
