BBC’s Question Time comes to Sheffield one day before Brexit

BBC’s Question Time is coming to Sheffield on 28 March, just one day before the UK is set to leave the European Union.

The programme, hosted by presenter Fiona Bruce, promises to be a lively debate being so close to Britain’s departure date.

Viewers of the long running show are invited to apply to be in the audience when it comes to the steel city.

Applicants are required to put two questions forward to the panel of presenters, politicians and special guests.

One applicant, Rebecca Roberts, 21, a Politics student said: “I’m excited to see some of the questions thrown to the panel. Sheffield is a melting pot of political standpoints, but Brexit is something that a lot of people can come together on.”

The BBC said, “It’s important that as many applicants as possible get the chance to be part of a Question Time audience”.

They also advise that people are more likely to be accepted if they have not been on the show before.

If successful, applicants will be contacted on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before the programme.
