A teenage boy has been hospitalised with ‘potentially life-changing injuries’ following a collision in Barnsley.
The accident, which happened in the Brierley Area at 1.45pm yesterday, has left the 17 year-old in a serious condition.
South Yorkshire Police, in a statement today said: “Yesterday afternoon, the boy was travelling along Common Road on a white Moto Race scooter.
“He is said to have swerved to avoid another vehicle, described as a red 4×4, travelling in the opposite direction.
“The scooter then hit a parked car, causing minor damage to it. The collision had happened close to the junction of Norwood Drive.”
Officers want to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened, or saw the other vehicle or a similar looking car.
