One of Sheffield’s biggest business workshops was held on Monday, with over 500 local businesses attending.
Business Sheffield worked in partnership with The Public Speaking Academy in a workshop on the art of speaking at the Crucible Theatre.
Yvonne Asquith, Business Growth Manager for Business Sheffield spoke about the current economic climate in Sheffield.
She said: “Whilst Sheffield’s overall business base has grown in absolute numbers over recent years, as a city we need to concentrate our efforts on the knowledge based sectors and scale ups to encourage a more dynamic economy and work with partners to build a strong ecosystem.”
Business Sheffield has delivered over 80 free workshops per year for the business community, and host a large networking event every three months in a city centre location which regularly caters for over 100 businesses.
They have also helped over 2000 individuals and businesses access development programmes in the last two years.
“In addition to our support for early stage and small businesses we have a team of Growth Advisers working with larger businesses in the city and a new team of Tech Scale Up Advisers who are all founders of their own successful tech businesses who are working with tech start-ups and established tech businesses in the city,” she said.
Business Sheffield’s next networking event will be at the new Kollider tech hub in Castle House on 15th May 2019.
