A Sheffield mum-of-two is to be celebrated for a commitment to Girlguiding with an MBE.
Helen Clarke, 48, of Walkley, will be headed to Buckingham Palace today to receive her award.
She has worked with over 5,000 girls and young women in her time with Girlguiding, and was one of the youngest members to achieve the Girlguiding Laurel for exceptional achievement in 2015.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Helen said that she was “really thrilled and excited to be awarded the MBE.” On Facebook she thanked all the other Girlguide volunteers in Sheffield, saying that: “This MBE award is for all of you, our amazing volunteers too. Thank you for being part of the ride.”
