Workshop to prevent burnout at work hosted in Sheffield

2 May 2019

A workshop to prevent burnout at work will be hosted at The Crucible to help employees deal with stress.

Innova Consultancy will be hosting the event in collaboration with the SME Tools to Prevent Burnout Project, which is fully funded by the European Commission.

“Burnout”, as explained by the project’s website, is “a state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress”. This can occur when a person is overwhelmed or emotionally drained.

The workshop aims to build resilience both individually and as part of a team, to identify an employee’s personality type and how it affects the management of stress, tools and exercises to cope with the stress and using mindfulness to prevent burnout.

The Health and safety executive statistics revealed that 595,000 workers suffered from work-related stress, depression and anxiety in 2017/18. They also revealed 15.4 million working days were lost for similar reasons.

The Prevent Burnout project website expanded on these statistics by revealing that in the UK 60-65% of bankers aged between 25 and 44 report some levels of burnout.

The event, explained by Innova “is a chance to showcase the burnout project and to promote awareness of the issue surrounding burnout and the importance of building resilience.”

The workshop is on 9 May, and is free of charge, you can book your place here. You can also visit the burnout projects website at
