Bubble Rush is a 5K family-friendly run featuring four bubble stations pumping out coloured bubbles. It starts in a ocean of foam and allows everyone in the family including pushchair and wheelchair to join in.
Sheffield Bubble Run will be held this weekend on the 11 May and funds will go to support Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
Helen Mower, head of Fundraising at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “There is no minimum fundraising requirement to take part We are encouraging people to make a donation to show their support for the charity, which cares for children and adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions; and their families. ”
In 2018, more than 60,000 people took part in 43 Bubble Rush events around the UK, raising over £1.5 million for the charities.
According to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, raising £25 could pay for a child at the hospice to have a dip in their spa pool.
Every £45 in sponsorship could also pay for many foamy fun in one of the hospice’s play sessions, such as completing with shaving foam, spaghetti, and lots of sensory activities.
Germaine Wilson, 35, joined the Bubble Rush last year, said: “ I enjoyed so much with my children and this is a fantastic course. My father was diagnosed with cancer and admitted in the Hospice before his condition got worse. He had some good time there and this event is very close to what I have. I think people need to realize it’s not just about a bubble run and it’s about a new quality of life.”
Helen added: “The foamy 5k is perfect for families or groups of friends or colleagues wanting to get together, have fun, and raise sponsorship for a good cause. We’re sure Sheffield Bubble Rush will be a fun run like no other!”
