Bubbles of fun for children in the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice

More than 1000 people joined in Rother Valley Country Park for a fun run with a difference.

Bubble Rush is a fundraising 5K family-friendly event which takes place every year in Sheffield to raise money for a local children’s hospice.

Luke Smith, 36, said: ‘’My family and I had an amazing day. As a family, we fundraised about £420 between us for the charity’’.

Leuren Wood, 52, said: ‘’This is my second time at the Bubble Rush event with my family and friends, my son is disabled in a wheelchair so his disability prevents him from being very active. He enjoyed the Bubble Rush last year so we have decided to come this year too.’’.

Mrs Wood added: ‘’There should be more events like this in Sheffield because it gets family and friends together. Also, people with disabilities can attend the event. We have donated £380 to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice’’.

Bubble Rush is Sponsored by PayPoint, Volker Wessels, active Broxbourne and Borough of Broxbourne.

Leah Harris, 20 years-old student volunteer at the event, said: ‘’It is my first time volunteering for a charity but this event is amazing, everyone is friendly and the bubbles are great’’.

Every Bubble Rush event is raising funds for a local charity. The next event in Sheffield for Bubble Rush is at Locke Park in Barnsley on 21 of July.
