The banking giant HSBC has announced that its Sheffield Broomhill branch is to close.
The affected branch is one of 27 outlets that will shut down this year because of changing customer habits.
Stuart Haire, HSBC UK’s Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, said: “Retaining a sustainable branch network is extremely important to us and we need to ensure it is fit for the future.
“But, the way our customers bank with us has changed significantly over the last five to ten years, and that change is something we cannot ignore.”
All jobs at the Broomhill branch will be moved to nearby sites.
The bank has said that the closures are part of a wider plan to future-proof its network and that £34m will be invested into many of its remaining branches.
A total of four other HSBC branches will remain in Sheffield.
