WATCH: Lockdown restrictions ease and Covid Anxiety Syndrome takes effect

20 May 2021

After a year of lockdowns and tier systems, the United Kingdom is on track with the roadmap of easing its restrictions.

People can now meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors, six people or two households can meet indoors and pubs, bars, and cafes can now serve their customers inside.

Despite the favourable changes allowing people to socialise once again, there have been increasing rates of post-COVID-19 anxiety.

David Smithson, Operations Director at Anxiety UK, said: “For some people, the lack of social interaction has been frustrating whereas others would be facing worry, fear and anxiety.”

Anxiety coach and mental health experts share their views on the emergence of the COVID-19 social anxiety and suggest ways on looking after your mental health.
