Darren Moore hails Wednesday form ahead of Charlton clash

Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore has lauded his side’s recent displays ahead of their weekend meeting with Charlton Athletic at Hillsborough.

The Owls have endured a rich vein of form of late, having won five of their last six games whilst keeping the door shut in four of those ties, which is testament to the progress made by Moore’s men since the early stages of the campaign.

“I am really pleased with where the players are at in terms of their performances,” Moore said ahead of the Owls’ League One clash against Charlton on Saturday, as quoted by Sheffield Wednesday’s official website. “The performances have been good, and we just want to get better with them, the consistency has been good with the boys.

“Despite the hurdles that have been thrown at us in recent weeks, whether the ball has not quite run for us or the injuries we have had, we have still got to keep that level of consistency. that is what the boys are showing.”

With his side in eighth place in League One ahead of the tie, Moore believes his side can keep up their momentum by taking each games as it comes ahead of the business end of the season.

The former West Brom and Portsmouth manager added: “They are in a good place mentally and physically, we just keep going, keep approaching it one game at a time, we look at the hurdles we face and face them together.

“What we are seeing is that when anybody steps in to the team, we pick up and they get carried along with the wave of where the team is at, and it has been great to see. they have had to do that to build the consistency.”
