WATCH: Miles for smiles – the Yorkshire directors ‘swapping their suits for the saddle’

31 March 2022

Two Yorkshire directors are embarking on an 130 mile cycle challenge in support of the Principle Trust Children’s Charity.

Darren Hirst, Director of Julius Baer Bank in Leeds, and Simon Thomas, Director of Otley-based Greenholme Carpets, will cycle from Sheffield to Lake Windermere to raise £3,000 for the trust.

Principle Trust Children’s Charity provides free holidays for children with a variety of disadvantages, including disabilities, life limiting conditions and those who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.

The directors have set off from Sheffield City Hall this morning and will stop off in Skipton overnight before cycling to their final destination of White Cross Bay tomorrow.

Mr Hirst, 51, said: “Over the past ten years the Trust has helped thousands of disadvantaged children create valuable, happy memories.”
