Tapton Secondary School in Sheffield has launched ‘The Green Initiative’ which aims on providing an outlet for students who want to help the planet.
The group works on various projects around the school to reduce their carbon footprint and educate others about climate change.
James Fulson, product design teacher and founder of the group, said: “Green Initiative is such an important part of our school. I began the group by organising different eco-action competitions for the kids to involve themselves in, like going vegetarian for the day.
“The kids had so much fun and the group quickly grew. We also started having ‘Green Days’ each month, which set time aside for the students to take part in eco-conscious activities and work together.”
