WATCH: Meet the “Karens” in novel Sheffield diner

Sheffield is now home to the first interactive restaurant in the UK, where staff are encouraged to serve customers with their worst possible attitude.

Unlike other normal restaurants, in Karen’s Diner, staff will swear, scream and shout at customers, while expecting guests to strike back “Karen-style”.

“Karen” is a term used to describe a person who abuses their privilege to get whatever they want, regardless of what other people think.

The restaurant, based on Suffolk Road, say: “(It’s) a place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don’t care.”

The diner was originally based in Australia. It opened the first branch in Sheffield after gaining its popularity on TikTok.
