Detectives investigating a murder in a Sheffield park last week have arrested two teenager’s and identified the victim.
Police were called at 5:05am on Thursday, May 12 after the body of a man was found in Manor City Fields Park, off City Road.
South Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation after the victim, now identified as Carlo Gianni, aged 34, was found by a post mortem to have died from a stab wound.
A 17 year old boy from Sheffield has today been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time. This is the second arrest made in the investigation after yesterday, Wednesday May 18, a man from Sheffield was arrested on suspicion of a number offences including murder. He remains in police custody at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and South Yorkshire Police are appealing for more witnesses to come forward or anyone with any information which may reveal the lead up to Carlo’s death. CCTV footage has been released which shows Carlo entering Manor Fields Park on the night of Wednesday, May 11, the last footage seen of Carlo alive.
